How to – Setup VHR

Hello everyone, and welcome to a another video for the how to series, and this one is concentrating on how to settle the VHR so the VHR is a say fairly new product is been out for a while now, but this is, is a gear towards being a, you know, and a mutable, a repository for you you're being back up. So I'm, I so what we'll do is we'll go through the process, and when you, when you get one of these units delivered, you'll have this kind of in the paperwork, so you're, I'll stop my sharing, and then if you can I'll stop my sharing, and then you can share your screen, and essentially correct me if I'm wrong, but we're going to start from the point where you switch it on, and this is the screen, you're presented with, is that, is that correct, correct, correct. So as you receive the box you you'll rack and stack it, and follow the information to plug in the correct cables, and power the unit on, and then you'll finally get to the screen you're about to see. This one's a VH, 30, so it's 29 terabytes. Click next. Now we need to do a path to where the backups are going to be stored. That is simply browse. Veeam. Back up. Pretty straightforward. Now this is your immutability section. So remember, when you set the immutability option here, which can be changed at any time, anything that's backed up can't be deleted for seven days. If you come back and change it later, that change will only occur on newer backups. For the ones that have already got seven, you cannot delete them still until they've expired.. So don't think you can get around it. We're going to be able to do that. it too long to start with. Also, you might want to set grandfather, father, son, maximum concurrent tasks, anything that you would normally set when you're configuring a repository within VIM. Choose Next. Home, jobs, backup job. You choose Require. I'm going to choose Virtual Machine. And I call it backup one. You mute Next at a host. So 85 is one of my test clusters. Let's just let that run, and then I'll show you what I mean about where the and that's it, you've not only deployed it integrated it and you've actually used it. Excellent. So I mean, all in all, it's kind of like 15, 15, 20 minutes really. It's really. So make sure that we use the correct time zone. Prepare the passwords is probably a good one and pretty ready with that and obviously be be ready with MFA as well. It may be that you don't want a particular phone being used for MFA. There might be a different phones to use et cetera, et cetera.
