We’re proud to announce today that Smile has integrated support for Transporter directly into the popular PDFpen and PDFpen Scan + applications using the recently released Transporter API. This integration creates one of the industry’s first end-to-end solutions for privately storing, accessing, editing and sharing confidential documents.

This is especially significant for professionals in the medical, legal and other heavily regulated industries who either shouldn’t or simply can’t use public cloud storage systems for most of their day-to-day activities dues to the sensitive nature of the documents involved. Whether it’s preserving attorney-client privilege or doctor-patient confidentiality, this combination is a game-changer for anyone who needs a simple, cost-effective and completely private way to sync, access and share confidential information.

The Smile PDFpen app allows you to view, edit, annotate, sign, and encrypt confidential documents on your iPhone, iPad and Mac notebook and desktop computers. Adding support for the Transporter platform gives anyone the ability to access and distribute confidential information – such as legal documents or patient records – from anywhere in the world on any device. All without having to think about the sensitivity of the information or where it is potentially going to be stored now that you have total control of where everything is stored.

If you’re interested in reading more about the integration, feel free to check out today’s press release and a recent article by our friends at AppAdvice that discusses the integration.

The PDFpen apps for iOS start at just $4.99 and are available from the Apple iTunes Store. Smile is also offering Transporter owners 20% off their entire family of Mac apps for a limited time. Simply use code 20PEN upon checkout from their online store.

The Smile integration is the first of many exciting announcements to come. Stay tuned for upcoming news from other companies that have joined the Transporter Developer Program.
