Job Description: Senior Product Manager

Location: Remote, United States

Reports To: SVP, Sales & Marketing

Role Overview:

The Senior Product Manager at Nexsan will guide the strategic vision and execution of our product portfolio. This role requires a mix of visionary leadership, customer-centric development, and hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be integral to ensuring that product decisions are data-driven, aligned with company goals, and responsive to both customer feedback and market dynamics.

Visionary Leadership & Strategic Thinking:

• Define and communicate the product vision in alignment with company objectives.
• Develop strategic plans that balance short-term needs with long-term product innovation.
• Keep ahead of market trends, competitive products, and industry shifts.
• Continuously assess competitors’ strengths and weaknesses to stay ahead in the market.

Customer-Centric Product Development:

• Collect and analyze customer needs, pain points, and market research to drive feature development.
• Prioritize features and enhancements that deliver maximum value to customers and the business.
• Finalize and communicate product roadmaps while keeping the organization educated on development timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Roadmaps:

• Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize enhancements and work with engineering on resource allocation and timing.
• Work closely with executive leadership to prioritize product enhancements and finalize roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure smooth execution of product roadmaps.
• Coordinate with marketing to create compelling product collateral, solution briefs, and messaging.
• Lead product launches, ensuring cross-departmental alignment and effective execution.
• Provide guidance on web content, feature highlights, and competitive positioning.
• Ensure sales enablement tools such as FAQs, objection handling guides, and training materials are developed and up-to-date.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

• Manage expectations and provide updates on product development progress to key stakeholders.
• Keep the entire organization informed of product timelines, changes, and new initiatives.
• Partner with marketing to deliver messaging that aligns with company branding and resonates with target customers.

Customer and Sales Feedback Integration:

• Gather input from sales reps and engineers to identify needed product enhancements and new product ideas.
• Develop processes for regular feedback loops with sales, engineering, and customers to ensure the product continually evolves in response to real-world usage.

Technical Understanding & Problem-Solving:

• Understand technical challenges and opportunities in product development.
• Collaborate with engineering to assess resource needs and project timing for product enhancements.

Metrics Tracking & Data-Driven Decision Making:

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success.
• Use data analytics and customer feedback to inform continuous product improvements.

Post-Launch Support & Innovation:

• Oversee product lifecycle management, ensuring post-launch product support.
• Drive innovation by seeking opportunities to enhance and evolve product offerings.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data center technologies, preferably data storage or data protection, product management, with a strong record of launching successful products.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to balance immediate tasks with long-term goals.
• Deep understanding of customer needs, competitive landscapes, and market trends.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Technical acumen to understand engineering challenges and solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Data-driven decision-making skills with a focus on user experience and business outcomes.
