Systems Engineer (MA, ME, RI, CT, NH, and VT)

Overview

The Systems Engineer’s role is responsible for assisting RSM’s, Channel Partners, and key end-user prospects in understanding our technical value proposition, proposing appropriate technical solutions, and working with Sales management to resolve any other technical challenges which might arise.
This position is primarily to cover the New England territory, but all SE’s are expected to assist other regions as required from time to time.

Responsibilities

You will work diligently to enhance the sales traction of Nexsan products. SE’s must know how to configure and manage SAN, NAS, and DAS storage on Linux, VMware, and Windows platforms, and have a solid understanding of IP and Fibre Channel networking. Work cross-functionally amongst a variety of teams and be a core contributor in every significant engineering solution that we deliver to our customers and partners.

The Nexsan Storage Solutions team is passionate about the products and technology solutions they represent. We are looking for a team member who shares this enthusiasm, work ethic and drive to win!

  • BS in a computer-related field or equivalent experience is required
  • Solid background in storage
  • SE’s must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be comfortable presenting technical material to audiences of all sizes.
  • Advanced knowledge of any or all of the following is an advantage but not required: scripting in Perl, Python, or PHP; programming in a c-based language; flash memory architecture; Solaris operating system and the ZFS file system; storage benchmarking; and/or competitive storage offerings.
  • It is strongly preferred that the SE candidate have experience in working through and managing VAR channels.

It is expected that the SE candidate have their primary residence within a one-hour driving distance of Boston.
