Oivind Mortensen, Nexsan’s established director for the Nordic territories, will take charge of sales in the Germanic countries (Germany, Switzerland and Austria). Massimo Calabrese, regional director for Southern Europe, is responsible for Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece. Pierre Agueberry recently assumed responsibility for the Central European markets of France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Nexsan Technologies is best known for its SATABeast, an advanced SATA disk-based solution for disk-based backup (D2D), nearline storage and disaster recovery applications and its Assureon, a secure archiving system for protecting the integrity of data in long-term storage situations.
Both products take advantage of Nexsan’s AutoMAID™ (Automatic Massive Array of Idle Disks) technology allowing it to power down disk drives to conserve energy yet provide near-instantaneous access to data. Conventional fibre channel storage consumes 187KW of energy per petabyte. In contrast, an Assureon system in Level 3 AutoMAID idle mode consumes just 6KW.
