Fast Write to Disk Cache
DeDupe SG can write and store backups on its high speed disk cache and then dedupe the data at a later time. By first writing backups to a fast disk cache, backup tasks are completed in a fraction of the time.

Independent, High Speed RAID Subsystem
DeDupe SG has its own independent, high performance RAID subsystem that can scale up to 8GB cache and up to 8 RAID engines. With RAID tasks off-loaded to the subsystem, CPU processing power can be solely dedicated to deduplication allowing users to backup and restore faster.

Multiple Streams/Applications Support
DeDupe SG supports multiple streams from multiple applications.

AutoMAID™ Energy Saving Technology
Nexsan DeDupe SG offers up to 65% more energy savings with AutoMAID. AutoMAID allowing DeDupe SG to gradually slow down and turn off its drives to conserve energy yet provide near-instantaneous access to data when needed.

Block Level Deduplication
DeDupe SG works at the block level – not the file level -providing granular data deduplication and can be used with any type of data backup.

Standard NAS Interface

Central Management
The management system enables administration and monitoring of all deduplication processes and services for 100s of TBs of logical data capacity. DeDupe SG systems can be accessed across any LAN, MAN or WAN.

DeDupe SG management services can be installed on any Windows or UNIX platform providing easy online access to all DeDupe SG systems. From a central interface, administrators can manage all DeDupe SG functions including NAS configurations, system monitoring, replication and recovery services.

Flexible Dedupe Exclusions
Users have the flexibility to exclude some data streams from the deduplication process. The DeDupe SG policy engine enables ‘set and forget’ deduplication management while speeding up backup operations.

DeDupe SG is very compact and available in many different sizes to accommodate the needs of any business:

4TB and 7TB usable capacity in a 5U configuration
12TB, 18TB and 26TB usable capacity in a 6U configuration

RAID 6 Protection
Data in the DeDupe SG is protected by Nexsan high speed RAID 6 guarding against dual drive failures. RAID sets are automatically rebuilt using included hot spare drives.

Replication with Global Dedupe
DeDupe SG can replicate deduped backups to another Nexsan DeDupe SG system located offsite for added data protection. DeDupe SG small office systems can also be installed at remote sites and their data replicated to a central DeDupe SG system.

Redundant Appliances
DeDupe SG provides a "hot" stand-by DeDupe SG appliance option to ensure that users have continuous access to stored data even when the production appliance encounters an outage.

OST and 10Gbit
Optional OST support and 10Gbit interfaces speed up the backup process even further, providing users with even smaller backup windows.
