Philip Black, Chief Executive Officer & Board Member

Storage and telecoms industry veteran Philip Black brings more than 25 years of experience as a CEO to Nexsan. Prior to Nexsan, Philip was President and CEO of LightSand Communications, a market leader in the development of SAN connectivity products, and before that was a Managing Partner at IN_Fusion, a storage industry consulting firm.  He has also served as CEO of Box Hill / Dot Hill (NYSE HIL), a storage systems manufacturer that he took public in ’97, and as founder and CEO of Tekelec (NASDQ TKLC), a telecoms equipment provider that he took public in ’86. Additionally, Philip served as Co-chair of SNIA’s ILM and Data Protection Initiatives.

Thomas Gosnell, CEO, Canada

Tom Gosnell offers Nexsan his own brand of drive, innovation, and entrepreneurship in storage technology. Tom was previously Founder and CEO of AESign Evertrust before the company was acquired by Nexsan in 2005, bringing with him the Assureon line of storage products. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of CS&T and Vice President of Product Development for Speedware Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise software solutions and applications development.

James Molenda, Executive Vice President of Sales

Jim Molenda offers Nexsan a wealth of data storage experience. After joining Nexsan in 2001, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales in January of 2007. Prior to joining Nexsan, Jim was a Director of Sales with Qualstar Corporation, a leading tape library manufacturer.

Richard Mussman, Chief Operating Officer

Richard Mussman lends to Nexsan his extensive leadership experience in storage and networking. He previously served as Nexsan’s Vice President of Technical Services from 2000 to 2006 before his promotion to Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Nexsan, Richard was Vice President of Sales for Lighthouse Technology Inc., a leading systems network integration company specializing in primary and secondary mass storage, backup and recovery. Earlier in his career, Rich served as Vice President of Global Services for Andataco Inc., a leading data storage company.

Gregg Pugmire, Executive Vice President of Business Development

Gregg Pugmire brings to Nexsan two decades of leadership experience. Prior to his current position, Gregg served as VP of Europe for Nexsan where he was in charge of driving results across the continent. Prior to Nexsan, Gregg was Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing with LightSand Communications, a market leader in the development of SAN connectivity products. Gregg received both his BSEE and MSEE from Brigham Young University.

Eugene Spies, Chief Financial Officer

Gene Spies comes from an exceptional financial background. Prior to Nexsan, Gene served as a Vice President of Finance with the Networking Division of Alcatel, a global telecommunications provider. Before his tenure there, he was a Senior Manager at KPMG, a leading independent registered public accounting firm.

Gary Watson, Chief Technology Officer

Gary Watson helps to keep Nexsan on the cutting edge of innovation. He co-founded Nexsan and has served as Chief Technology Officer since 2000. Prior to that, Gary founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of Nexsan Technologies Ltd., the company’s UK subsidiary. Gary was an Engineering Manager with Trimm Technologies, Europe, a leading provider of data storage subsystems.

Robert Woolery, Senior Vice President of Marketing

Bob Woolery brings to Nexsan more than two decades of experience as a senior executive in marketing, product management and business development working with a range of storage and software companies. He most recently served as Executive Vice President of Market Development at Valumation Software, a subsidiary of Imperial Technology. He previously served as Vice President of Product Marketing at DataDirect Networks and Vice President of Product Marketing at Xiotech Corporation. In those positions he gained deep domain expertise in storage and related technologies and associated customer needs. He has devoted particular attention to addressing the unique challenges managing the rising tide of unstructured data within regulated environments where companies must meet ever changing compliance rules.
